XXI•Q |14| How do you think the world will change in 10 years? 50? 100?

Ahhh, now this is a great question. This question allows for creativity and for the mind to stretch to every corner of the imagination.

I'd like to think that there will be more people who are practicing mindfulness everyday. That we will be a more peaceful generation within the next 100 years. With advancements in technology that will push us further and further away from each other, developing social constructs against us, I think we will continue to find ways to connect with ourselves and the world around us.

As it stands right now, we don't have to leave the house to do a thing. Nothing. We can order every single thing we require online, from the convenience of our couches. As thrilled as I am about it, I have to be honest and say that this definitely decreases the human factor in our lives. In turn, we don't know how to treat each other. When we are forced to go out, we have no patience and no care or compassion for one another. We forget that we have struggled and we have been pained and project perfectionism onto each person we come in contact with.

The human factor is dying rapidly.

There are people who desire connection with others. People who thrive on human-to-human interaction and simply can't live without it. With such a huge divide between these two groups and with so much technology separating them, I think it will be very interesting to see how things will be in the next 10 years.

This is such a good question. I would love to say that we will be riding around in fuel efficient, environmentally responsible hover vehicles and utilizing the sky above us to eradicate ground traffic. Everything will be automatic and push button or voice activated and our phones will be a part of our bodies.

Who truly knows?

All I know is (and I say this often) that I may not be the next leading politician, I may not be the next person to make the biggest change but I can MENTOR the next person to make these changes and I want to do my part in that; my very best at that.

How do you see the world around you changing over the next century?

best,
