Charcoal

My charcoal work is rooted in the hands-on, immersive training I received at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. There’s something deeply elemental about working with raw materials — the texture of the paper, the friction of charcoal between fingers, the subtle gradations you can achieve with just your touch. I love the immediacy and intimacy of this medium, and it allows me to explore form, shadow, and expression in a way that feels alive and deeply connected to the process of making.
